Used only for your project
Your conversations, photographs, voice notes, documents, journals, and other submitted materials are used only to plan, design, review, print, and deliver your DearStory project.
DearStory Trust Promise
Your Story. Protected With Care.
DearStory is a bespoke storytelling studio creating cinematic memoirs, personalized storybooks, WhatsApp conversation archives, and family legacy editions from client-supplied memories. You may be trusting us with years of personal chats, photographs, handwritten letters, voice notes, private documents, and moments that were never intended for public view. We treat confidentiality as part of the creative responsibility—not as an optional extra.
This page explains our project-level confidentiality commitments and how private source material is handled during planning, writing, illustration, design, review, printing, and delivery. For broader information about website data, payments, and contact details, please also read our Privacy Policy.
Your conversations, photographs, voice notes, documents, journals, and other submitted materials are used only to plan, design, review, print, and deliver your DearStory project.
Access is restricted to the team members and production partners who need the material to complete your project. We do not provide open or unrelated internal access to client files.
We do not publish your project, display it in our portfolio, post it on social media, or use it in advertising without your explicit written permission.
You retain ownership of the original conversations, photographs, documents, recordings, and memories you submit. DearStory does not claim ownership of your personal source material.
You may remove sensitive content before sharing it, identify items that must be excluded, or ask us not to reproduce particular messages, documents, photographs, or memories.
After your project has been completed and delivered, you may ask us to delete your submitted source files from our active production systems, subject to any limited retention required for payment, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
A conversation-based DearStory may include several years of WhatsApp chats, relationship milestones, photographs, media references, and personal documents. You may remove irrelevant or sensitive sections before sharing, and you may instruct us to exclude specific messages, names, dates, files, or topics from the final book.
Some projects contain especially sensitive information, including identity documents, health-related memories, legal or financial records, family histories, or private correspondence. Before sharing, we encourage you to remove anything that is not required for the book. You can also provide clear exclusion instructions for any material that should not appear in the final project.
When a printed edition is ordered, only the production files and delivery information needed to manufacture and ship the book are shared with the selected print and logistics providers. We do not authorize those providers to use your project for promotion or unrelated purposes. Read more about our printing and shipping confidentiality practices.
For projects involving highly confidential material, DearStory can review and sign a reasonable Non-Disclosure Agreement before source files are shared. Any NDA must accurately reflect the agreed project scope, responsibilities, permitted access, retention, and deletion terms. See our NDA request guidance.
Tell us what kind of material your project contains. We will explain the handling process before you send anything.
